ZS-DBR was the first of four Constellation delivered to South African in 1950 replacing DC-4s on some routes. The fleet was relegated to domestic and regional tourist class flights fitted with 84 seats from the mid-1950s. Re-registered N24927 in June 1991 and is currently undergoing deep maintenance in the CAF hangar at Dallas Executive, (formerly Dallas Redbird), Airport, Texas.

Actually DM-SAL. The text 'der SED' after '3.Parteikonferenz' has been painted over. A basic way of erasing a part of the SED's legacy after the German re-unfication.

Originally built in 1954 as L-20 53-7929 for the US Army, it was retired in 1972 and imported into Canada as C-GAEA. It passed on to the US register in 1994 as N1954J and is currently, (at time of posting), registered to Sourdough Air Service of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Delivered as a C-121C in 1955. Converted to an EC-121S. Preserved at Lackland AFB from 1979.

Delivered as an SA-16A. Converted to an SA-16B. Redesignated as an HU-16B in 1962. Preserved at Lackland AFB from 1968. Sold as N41011 and towed to Kelly AFB for restoration to airworthy condition in 1994. Flew out and reregistered as N85303 in 1995. Current on the register in 2025.

Delivered to the US Navy as R6D-1 131589 in 1953. Transferred to the USAF as C-118A 51-17640 in 1958. Preserved at Lackland AFB from 1975. Paint removed for a repaint.

Former Canadian Armed Forces CC-109 109157, or Canadair CL-66B if you wish, but probably better known as Convair 540 HP-1445 is seen here stored at Albrook in Panama.

Octobr 1983 Combs Airways, opf Frontier Commuter. August 1985 Metro Airlines, opf American Eagle. Octobr 1987 N73162 bought by SAAB and converted to freighter CV-580F. Septembr 1988 bought by EAT, and in Decembr rr OO-DHJ European Air Transport, opf DHL. Octobr 1995 HZ-SN14 SNAS Aviation, opf DHL. Novembr 1st 2004 N587X Air Tahoma. 30 Apr '42: TOS USAAF as C-53 42-6474. Beginning in 1945 the plane went through many owners. Registrations included XA-DUI, XA-HIP, N5139B, N46TE, N162E. Ca.1993: Viking Express/Robert Burwell, IL. Ca.1994: Pelican Air/Robert Burwell with c/r N22RB. By Jul '95: Vintage Airways/Robert Burwell. Feb '98: Jade Software Corporation, Boca Raton, FL. 13 Aug 2004: Destroyed by Hurricane Charley.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-27868. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ by 1958. Sold in 1959 and registered as N9077Z in 1960 and converted to an agricultural sprayer. To the Confederate Air Force in 1979 and rebuilt to military configuration. Reregistered as N25YR in 1981. They were renamed to the Commemorative Air Force in 2002.

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-35918. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB by 1958. Sold as N7953C in 1960. Impounded at San Jose, Costa Rica in 1962. Registered as TI-1040L in 1963 then HR-276 in 1969. To the Honduras Air Force as 276 then 510. Sold as N2781G in 1982. To the USAF Museum in 1983 and displayed at Lackland AFB.

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-29835. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ by 1958. Sold in 1959 and registered as N3676G. To the Confederate Air Force in 1967. Stored at Harlingen, TX from 1977. Trucked to Lackland AFB in 1980, restored and placed on display.

Preserved at Lackland AFB from 1950.

Retired at Lackland AFB in 1954 and placed on display in 1956. Dismantled and flown to Mildenhall, UK in a C-5A then trucked to the Imperial War Museum, Duxford in 1999. Restored and displayed in the American Air Museum hangar there from 2002.

Delivered to the USAF as T-29C 52-1142 in 1954. Converted to an AC-131A in 1959 then to an AT-29C in 1960. Redesignated as an ET-29C in 1962. To the FAA as N247 in 1962 and reregistered as N248 then N244 in 1963. Sold as N12241 in 1973 which was never applied and stored at Hondo. Later scrapped.

First registered as NC17 in 1936. Cancelled from the register in 1989. To Disneyworld in Orlando, FL and used in a display for the film Casablanca. Later moved to the jungle river ride at Magic Kingdom, FL
