Delivered to United Air Lines as CV340-31 N73156 in 1954. To Frontier Airlines in 1959 and converted to a CV580 in 1965. To Metroflight and operated for American Eagle in 1981. Traded in to SAAB then to European Air Transport/DHL as OO-DHH in 1988. It was being converted to a freighter for them by Hamilton Aviation when this photo was taken. I could not positively ID it. It could be OO-DHI. Transferred to Swiftair as EC-255 then EC-GHN in 1996 then to SkyCongo as ZS-SKI in 2005. Stored at Kinshasa by 2009. Probably scrapped.

Traded in to SAAB then to European Air Transport/DHL as OO-DHI in 1988. It was being converted to a freighter for them by Hamilton Aviation when this photo was taken. I could not positively ID it. It could be OO-DHH. Transferred to Swiftair as EC-899 and damaged beyond repair in a wheels up landing at Vitoria in 1995

To DHL later in 1989 and reregistered as OO-DHJ in 1990 then to SNAS as HZ-SN14 in 1996. Sold as N587X in 2004 then to Air Tahoma in 2005. Destroyed in a fatal crash near Columbus-Rickenbacker International Airport, OH while on a test flight in 2008.

Octobr 1983 Combs Airways, opf Frontier Commuter. August 1985 Metro Airlines, opf American Eagle. Octobr 1987 N73162 bought by SAAB and converted to freighter CV-580F. Septembr 1988 bought by EAT, and in Decembr rr OO-DHJ European Air Transport, opf DHL. Octobr 1995 HZ-SN14 SNAS Aviation, opf DHL. Novembr 1st 2004 N587X Air Tahoma. September 1st 2007 it charshed after take-off at Rickenbacker. Seen loading in the afteroon 1990
