ex 11154 / 109154 RCAF, C-FNCT, 9Q-CLU, 9XR-NB, HP-1468, HP-1468APP and YV-191T - delivered to Boliva in 2006

Ex RCAF/CAF 11159 and 10959. Withdrawn from service and stored at Saskatoon in 1994 before being sold to Aeroperlas of Panama in 2002 as HP-1473. Reported as sold in Venezuela circa 2007, she remained stored at Tocumen until bought by Kelowna Flightcraft and returned to Canada as C-GTVJ in September 2012, when once again placed into storage and subsequently scrapped.

Kelowna Flightcraft obtained five former RCAF Cosmopolitans but an unsure market and challenges with certification resulted in all being scrapped except one which is 109152. It will be preserved and kept in Kelowna. 109157 was acquired in Panama City as HP-1445 and flown to Kelowna under temporary reg C-GPQY. The Canadair built Cosmos can be identified by the HF antenna hump on the top fuselage.

Former RCAF 109152 was one of five retired RCAF CC-109 aircraft parked on the Kelowna Flightcraft ramp in September 2014. Each aircraft had about 15,000 hrs and, while the engines had been removed, they all appeared to be in good condition. I was told that they all had glass cockpits installed just prior to be retired by the RCAF. Due to the difficulty in getting them certified for civilian use and a limited market for CV580/CV5800 freighters, by August 2017, only C-GLWF/109152 survived. It was selected for preservation because it reportedly once transported the Queen during a visit to Canada.
