Santas' sleigh - VH-GMD with Father Christmas on board. -GMD was damaged at Amaroo Station, New South Wales on February 8, 1986 during cattle mustering. It collided with a utility (the Australian name for a pick-up truck) and overturned. Photographer not known.
VH-EAB wore this special "Have a Qantastic Christmas" livery for only a month. Qantas had already sold it to ITEL which had in turn leased it to Young Cargo. However, the delayed arrival of new 747-238B VH-EBN resulted in Qantas leasing it back. At the end of the lease, -EAB was quickly delivered to Young Cargo as OO-YCL. Photographer not known.
After its active service ended, A79-804 became an instructional airframe and gate guardian at RAAF Forest Hill. Parts were later used in the restoration of VH-HLF The rest went to Army Museum at Bandiana, Victoria and then to the RAAF Heritage Centre at Townsville, Queensland.
A7-028 was disposed of in 2005 after many years as an instructional airframe, coincidentally at RAAF Forest Hill where it was visiting as part of the Roulettes in 1977.It was last reported stored at Rupanyup, Victoria.
