Photographer not known. Originally XL640 with the RAF, this Britannia was acquired by Monarch in January 1976, provisionally for Aer Turas. However the aircraft was instead painted up for Eurafric, a putative Portuguese operator which planned to operate services to Africa, but I don't think this ever got going. The aircraft was instead leased to Aer Turas on an ad hoc basis in 1978 and later leased to Redcoat Air Cargo as G-BHAU, with a livery based on the Eurafric scheme. It was sold to Katale in Zaire in 1982 and flew as 9Q-CHU for a few years before being retired a few years later.

Photographer not known. This smart-looking C-118 was lost in a non-fatal accident on 10 February 1991. It was chartered to carry 80 soldiers on a flight from Bogota to Arauca and Puerto Carreño. The aircraft was forced to return due to a 'mechanical failure' and, after rectification efforts, took off again. However, after takeoff the No. 1 engine caught fire. The fire spread to the No. 2 engine also and an emergency landing had to be made, off-airport. The aircraft landed in a field, broke in two and was destroyed by fire. All 85 on board survived.

Maverick was set up to specialise in transporting inseminated cows to the Shah of Iran, who was keen to build up cattle ranching. A second 707, N791PA, was also acquired. However the business ran into diffculty once the Shah was overthrown by Muslim revolutionaries in early 1979. One of the Maverick's aircraft was temporarily stranded at Tehran Airport for some days and cattle barns that the company had financed in Iran were seized by the revolutionary government. While efforts were made to keep operating, the company ceased operations some time later, its primary business having dried up.

Parked without titles after the demise of Court Line in 1974. This photo appears to have been taken from the McAlpine Aviation offices on the western side of the apron. This aircraft spent most of its subsequent career with Cathay Pacific before being acquired by Aer Turas in 1997 as EI-CNN. It was leased to a company called TBG who in turn operated it for a variety of carriers which included Air Malta, Air Inter, Iberia, Virgin Express, Kampuchea Airlines and Britannia. It was stored in Abu Dhabi from 1999 and eventually broken up there in late 2006. (Photographer not known.)
