This well-travelled aircraft was known as "Rose of Corona" after its erstwhile Californian base and from the lyric of the Paul Simon song "Me and Julio". The following year it was purchased by Boeing and donated to the TAM Airline Museum located the city of São Carlos, Brazil.

Beautifully restored in 2024 and painted in its December 1944 colour scheme when it tugged a Waco to Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge. Despite suffering heavy damage, the aicraft managed to get back to England safely, much to the astonishment of its crew, which then named the aicraft Gruesome.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-68819. Post-war conversion to DC-3A and to Svenska Kyrkans Missionsstyrelse as SE-APG Feb 1946 for missionary flights, later Nordiskt Missionsflyg. To AB Aerotransport July 19848, SAS from July 1949. To SNCSAO as F-BEIS January 1951, to French Air Force as 68819, to Brabier as F-BRGI November 1972, to Yugoslav Air Force as 71237, to YU-ABW November 1979. Then it gets interesting. Sold to Atlas Aircraft in Miami, FL as N8071Z and stored at Riem. In March 1981 she was registered 9Q-CYI and flown to South Africa bypassing the UN embargo on the country and given the SAAF serial 6875. This is the second 6875, the first was written off in 1964. Parked at Dyce's original Terminal Area on the Airfield's east side. Delivered new to the USAAF in 1943 as 42-68784. Became SE-BAU in 1945 with ABA and then SAS. Briefly re-registered F-OAIF of Air Outremer. Became G-AOBN in 1955 with Air Kruise, then with Silver City Airways from 1957 and British United Airways (Radio Calibration Unit from 1966. Joined Air Anglia in 1971. Transferred to Skyways Cargo in 1975. Exported to Ethiopia as ET-AGR in July 1977. Destroyed in an air raid on Jigiga Airport, Ethiopia on 12 August 1977.

Delivered to Chilean Air Force as 955 on February 1953. Dumped in Las Condes in 1977, and now forms part of the Club Palestino in Santiago de Chile. It has been converted to be a playhouse for club members.

Built as 42-68825. To TWA as NC44998 in September 1945 and later N44998, operated by Northeast Airlines, Lake Central Airlines, Houston Aviation Products Corporation, Jefferson State Airlines and O'Hare International Airline before being impounded in Colombia in 1979. Operating with SELVA by 1980 and Transoriente by November 1992. Sadly crashed when both engines lost power on take off from Villavicencio 28 May 1994 killing all 29 on board.
