This aircraft, ex BuNo 46521, was the first of a batch of six taken bought by the Netherlands navy. It arrived at Schiphol on 19 January 1951, but crashed four days later when landing at the Aviolanda works in Papendrecht for modifications, and was a write-off. Former Aero OY Finnish Air Lines / Finnair (OH-LRF 1957 - 72) and Stellar Air Transport (LN-MTT 1972 - 74) was sold in the USA as N90447 before coming to Canada in 1978. Pictured stored on the ramp, the aircraft never entered service before Harrison Airways ceased flying. The taped on registration below the aft door has already fallen off and it would become N440AD with Aerodyne. Last with SASA - Servicios Aéreos Santa Ana (CP-2256) , it was written off after a forced landing in open country near near Colquemarca, Peru on September 14, 1993.

Constructed as an A-26B-66-DL by Douglas at Long Beach, Ca. United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-34624. From 1963 to 1964 to Farah Manufacturing Co, El Paso, TX with c/r N6101C. From 1966 to 1969 to Rogers Brothers, Beaumont, TX. 1969 to Texas State Optical Corp, 1969. Circa 25 Feb70 Certificate of airworthiness for N6101C (B-26B, 27903) issued. From 25Feb70 to 1977 to Confederate Air Force Inc, Harlingen, TX. Early 1981, reported damaged by fire during taxiing and later stored and used for spares.

At a time when four engine aircraft were still relatively rare, the Heron was well received by flight crews and by passengers who appreciated the additional safety when operating into more remote locations. Some 150 were built and exported to around 30 countries. Later, a number of Herons were fitted with 290 hp (216 kW) Lycoming IO-540 flat-six piston engines.The modifications were carried out by the Riley Turbostream Corporation of the USA and so became known as the Riley Heron. Due to clutter it was difficult to get a nice side on shot but this view shows the flat engine conversion nicely.

The CW-20 prototype, originally flown with twin fins as the CW-20T - it appears in photo 367081 although the tail is not visible. Tail redesigned and airframe rebuilt as the CW-20A. USAAF took delivery of it as a C-55 (not C-46) but soon returned it to Curtiss-Wright so it could be sold to BOAC. Operated between Gibraltar and Malta. Scrapped in October 1943. Built for the USAAF as 41-7782. Sold to Avensa in Venezuela in 1947 as YV-C-AVL and flew with them until 1974. To YV-C-CML and YV-184C with Comeravia and and finally with Rutaca as YV-214C. Withdrawn at Ciudad Bolivar by 1979 and used for spares, the fuselage remaining present there until at least 1995.

Delivered to BOAC as G-AHEL in April 1946. To Capital Airlines as N2736A in January 1955, retired in December 1960. To Falcon Airways as G-AHEL in March 1961 before going to Euravia in July the same year when Falcon was temporarily grounded. To her last operator Britair East Africa as 5Y-ABF in March 1965. Retired in December 1965 and later scrapped at Shannon. Photographer unknown

Delivered the USAF as C-131E 57-2549 then transferred to the FAA as N102 in 1957. Converted to a CV580 in 1961. Reregistered as N92 in 1972. To Tarrant County Junior College as a ground trainer at Fort Worth-Meacham, TX in 1996. Cancelled from the register in 2001. To Universal Airlines as N8099S in 2004 and flown to Abbotsford, BC. Registered to Conair as C-FJVD in 2006. Still there in 2014.

The former Western Air Express company was severed from TWA and operated as General Air Lines from May till December 1934. This was the second airline to fly the DC-2, having only one example in service for much of this brief period, NC13733 (c/n 1259), working route AM-13 between Salt Lake City and San Diego. Despite having fleet number 1, NC13731 was not delivered until September. At the end of the year, GAL's services were taken over by United Air Lines and its four DC-2s were sold to Eastern Air Lines. Beached for extended maintenance work at Ignace Airways' Agimak Lake base, with an engine cover still to be replaced. Built in 1954 for the Royal Norwegian Air Force as 53-31 (O-AG). Saw military service for 13 years, including support for expeditions in Antarctica. Retired and sold as LN-LMM to Wideroes Flyveselskap. Returned to Canada in 1971 as CF-APR with Laurentian Air Services, becoming C-FAPR of Bearskin Lake Air Services in 1977. After flying with Leuenberger Air Service from 1985, joined Ignace Airways in 1988.
