Painted as "Ruptured Duck" inside the hangar of CV-10 USS Yorktown. The original B-25B was flown by Lt TW Lawson, D Davenport, CL McClure, RS Clever and Sgt DJ Thatcher under Bay Bridge on their arrival at San Francisco. Launching as Plane 7 from CV-8 USS Hornet on 18 Apr 42 on the daring Doolitle Raid, they mistakenly flew off the carrier without using flaps. After successfully bombing Tokyo, the crew were badly injured when the bomber flipped over on a wave when attempting to land on a Chinese island.
