Delivered to United Arab Airlines in December 1960 and crashed taking off from Munich for a flight to Athens on 9th February 1970. Although the aircraft was a write off, there were no fatalities amongst the 14 passengers and 9 crew.

Ex 42-93271 and KG572. Bought by Derby Aviation in April 1961 and sold to Gregory Air Services in May 1965, leased by them for a short period in 1967 to Emerald Airways as EI-ARR. Flew in Africa from August 1968 as VQ-ZJB, 3D-AAH, A2-ZHR and ZS-KAT. Joined the Rhodesian AF in January 1978 as R3700 and became 3700 with the Zimbabwe AF in April 1980. Withdrawn and stored at Manyame by February 1998 it was one of five ex Zimbabwe AF C-47s transported by road to Wonderboom in July/August 2017. Registered to Preferred Air Parts as N568PT and cancelled from the US register in May 2023

Ex USAAF 44-83563. One of three B-17s which passed through Gatwick en-route to Bovingdon for the filming of the movie The War Lover. Once at Bovingdon all three were painted in the USAAF camouflage of the 324th Bomb Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group, N9563Z wearing the serial 41-27742/DF-T. After filming she returned to the US to join Aviation Specialties of Mesa as a fire tanker and in 1969 was involved in the film Tora Tora Tora. Sold to the National Warplane Museum at Geneseo NY. in 1985 flying as '297400' 'Fuddy Duddy' and current with the Lyon Air Museum in Santa Ana CA. at time of upload.

Registered in April 1947 as G-AJOG, cancelled as sold in Belgium in November 1951 and registered as OO-ERY in January 1952. Based at Grimbergen with several owners before sale back to the UK via OJ Marmol at Southend to Devonair at Chivenor. It was intended to use the aircraft on flights to Lundy Island but the sale was never completed and the aircraft remained in its Belgian marks. The registration was officially cancelled in February 1960 and the aircraft was scrapped and burnt in November 1963.

First flown in January 1958 and intended to replace the Piper Pa18 and Cessna L-19 in service with the ALAT, two prototypes were followed by 150 production aircraft. Built between 1959 and 1961, principally for use in Algeria, the type was not particularly successful, quickly being superseded by helicopters in its observation and Medevac role.

Built in 1960, ex D-EMKE. A one off conversion powered by a Turbomeca Astazou 11, first flown on 2nd March 1961. To F-BJRD and reported written off on 3rd June 1964.

Originally ordered in November 1944 as part of a batch of 30 Sturgeon S.1 carrier-borne strike aircraft. The order was ultimately reduced and altered to consist of 23 Sturgeon T.T.2 target tugs which entered service in the early 1950s and several, including TS492 were later modified to T.T.3 standard by Shorts at Rochester. 728 NAS at Hal Far was to become the main user of the Sturgeon T.T.3 until its retirement circa 1958. In addition to two prototypes, sixty Short SB.6 Seamews were ordered in 1953 however only twenty four eventually flew, the remainder of the contract being cancelled in 1957. XE171 was first flown on 15th August 1955 and appeared at Farnborough less than one month later. Delivered to Pan American World Airways on 18 April 1953. Involved in an accident at Schiphol on 1st February 1958 and subsequently converted to a freighter. Sold as N7344 to Liberty Air in May 1965 and became G-ATOB with Trans World Leasing February 1966. Leased to Trans Meridian London in 1966/67 and became VR-BCT with ARCO Bermuda in July 1968. Reported to have been briefly registered as TI-1065P in October 1968, still with ARCO, before reverting to VR-BCT. Written off in a belly landing at Abidjan, Ivory Coast on 26th July 1970.

Built as NR808 for the RAF in 1945. Registered to Airlines (Jersey) Ltd from February 1959 until August 1961 but flew with Alderney Airlines titles for a period in late 1959. Still active in 2023 based at Old Warden

Based in Europe for twenty years and at nearby Burtonwood for much of the 1950s. After the base closed in early 1959 the aircraft was based at Speke for several weeks. It was later converted to an EC-47Q for service in South East Asia and was eventually withdrawn at Clark AFB in the Philippines in 1974

Later converted to RF-101G and flew with 189th TRG, Little Rock AFB, AR. until retired to MASDC at Davis Monthan in August 1972. Scrapped in April 1975.

Temporarily civil registered as G-ALWA for an overseas sales tour to India in Spring 1950. Written off 27 June 1951 whilst flying for the AIEU (Aircraft Instrument Examinations Unit), when it crashed near the village of Wilby, Suffolk. Both crew on board were killed. Only achieving limited success, fifteen production Athena T.2s were used for armament training by the RAF Flying College at Manby between 1950 and 1955.

Ex USAAF 43-49162, RAF KJ985, G-AGMZ (BOAC) and AP-AAA. Registered to Aden Airways as VR-AAE 1st February 1950, Leased to Jordan Airways in 1955 as JY-ABW, the aircraft later operated with various oil companies in North Africa as N9820F and N482F and ended her days being used as a target by the Libyan Army.

1947 vintage, returned to the UK 28 years later as Z-YGZ to compete in the 1990 London-Sydney Vintage Air Race. Later to South Africa as ZS-YGZ and active until at least 2015 but current status uncertain.

The fuselage of this former BOAC, Airwork, Falcon and Silver City Airways Hermes was a familiar part of the Gatwick scenery for many years. Rescued from the scrap man in 1962, it was used as a cabin trainer by British United, Caledonian//BUA and British Caledonian until presented to the British Airports Authority at Gatwick in 1976 for use as a smoke evacuation trainer. Moved to Duxford in 1981 and restored over many years, it has been displayed since 2006 in its original BOAC colours as part of the British Airliner Collection.

Built in 1955, to Hungary as HA-EKC in 2008 and Russia as RA-2902G in 2018.
