In service with airline until January 1974. One of the airline's first B707's, Mrs. Eisenhower as "Clipper America" in October 1958. By 1973 most of the observation deck had been closed down to allow expansion of the IAB and addition of jetbridges. A small portion remained in front of the restaurant but was eventually also closed down.

When Washington National Airport (now Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport) opened its new terminal in July 1997, it held an open house and invited the public to tour the new facility. Save-A-Connie (Airline History Museum) M404 N145S; Mid-Atlantic Air Museum M404 N450A; and Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation C-54E N500EJ were invited to attend and were open to the public for tours during the event. Sadly, all three aircraft will probably never fly again but they made for a great display during that July 1997 event.

This B727 cockpit section sat in front of the Howard Johnsons Motel on 82nd Street adjacent to Portland International Airport. The cockpit was completely devoid of any identification markings. The only reason I knew it was a B727, and not a B737, was the presence of the flight engineer's station. Does anyone have any clue to its identity?
