Note that it also still wears the registration N88892 on the rear fuselage, which dates back to early 2011 when it was briefly used in the ABC television series "Pan Am", painted with a blue cheatline, small "Pan American" titles and "N88892" on the left side only. Isn't this *almost* like one of those old shots from the 50s & 60s? A classic prop on the ramp, baggage carts and service vehicles in attendance, passenger stairs and a small terminal building in the background. OK, so my geeky aeroplane imagination has run a bit wild but, nevertheless, this was a fantastic day out at this museum.

When Washington National Airport (now Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport) opened its new terminal in July 1997, it held an open house and invited the public to tour the new facility. Save-A-Connie (Airline History Museum) M404 N145S; Mid-Atlantic Air Museum M404 N450A; and Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation C-54E N500EJ were invited to attend and were open to the public for tours during the event. Sadly, all three aircraft will probably never fly again but they made for a great display during that July 1997 event.
