Spectacular arrival of the Belgian Hercules for the NATO Days 2015.

In order to keep the Austrian Air Force's three C-130Ks in service for longer, a fourth Hercules was purchased from the Royal Air Force in 2015 to be used for spare parts. The aircraft, with the serial number 382-4261, was built in 1967 and entered service with the RAF on 8 March 1968 as XV295. After 45 years of service, the Hercules was taken out of active service on 29 October 2013 and stored at Saint Athan. On 10 December 2015, it was flown to Linz-Hörsching. The next day, the tail was removed and the aircraft was pushed into the hangar. Since then, it has been dismantled piece by piece.

Delivered to the Indonesia Air Force as T-1302 in 1960. Reserialled as A-1302 by 1989. Damaged beyond repair when it landed short of the runway at Wamena in 2009.

A completely unmarked aircraft other than stars and bars.

Crashed July 10, 2017 into field near Itta Bena, Mississippi while on flight from MCAS Cherry Point to NAF El Centro. All 16 onboard killed.

The fog lifted for a few minutes, allowing this photo to be taken. In the foreground is 8T-CB and in the background is the Austrian Air Force's fourth Hercules 8X-CZ, which had landed the day before.

1994: TOS USAF. Assigned to 204th Airlift Squadron/154th Wing (ANG), Hickam AFB, HI.  Sep 2005 to after Nov 2024: 169th Airlift Squadron/182nd Airlift Wing (ANG), Peoria, IL.

Part of the temporary detachment of 3 Gunships based few weeks in Djibouti during the Somalian crisis in 1993. They were used to fight against the militia troops of Somali General Aidid.
