29 Nov '44: TOS USAAF as C-47B. Nov '44 to 1947: four units at three bases. Ca.1947: Converted to C-47D. 1947 to 1974: Seventeen units at six bases. 30 Jun '75: Retired and flown from Eglin AFB, FL to the Air Force Museum. It was the last C-47 in USAF service and ended with 20,821 flying hours.

The Turbo Beaver no longer has the sharks teeth as in years past.

This C-47 served with the 9th AF in WW2 and took part in both the D-Day and Market Garden operations in 1944. Post-war, it was based in West Germany until 1954, when it was based at Rabat, Morocco before moving again to Wheelus AB, Libya in 1956. After further service in the USA, it was retired in 1964. It was relegated to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds for target use but survived this to be used by the US Army as a training aid for CH-54 helicopters. When it was no longer required for this role, it was saved and, in October 1986, flown as an underslung load to Dover for permanent preservation.

Tail serial presentation has been corrected from the erroneous "39-760" previously worn.

Carrying MATS "Pacific Division" titling after a repaint. Previously, the aircraft was marked as "Atlantic Division".

After a post-military career as a fire-bomber with Hemet Valley Flying Service, registered N13746, this machine was preserved at Edwards AFB, CA from 1991. It was dismantled and airlifted to Dover AFB aboard a C-5M Galaxy on 19 December 2016, on delivery to the Air Mobility Command Museum. It is the second-oldest C-119 in existence and the only surviving aircraft from the operation that air-dropped mobile bridge sections to US Marines during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. in the Korean War.

The new airport at Cooma, built to support the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme, was one the few regional airports in the Butler network able to handle the Viscount. This An-2 was originally delivered to MÉM Rep. Szolgálat (as HA-MEO) in January 1981 but later transferred over to Air Service Hungary in January 1990. The plane is now operated by Avia-Rent and is pictured parked on the grass at LHBS.
