Vickers v.747 G-ANXV. Delivered to Butler Air Transport "RMA Warral" registered as VH-BAT in October 1955. To Ansett-ANA September 1958. Re-registered VH-RMO May 1963. Leased to MMA (Western Australia) April to Sept 1968. WFU December 1968. Prepared for sale to Pan Indonesian painted in a blue paint scheme, but the sale did not eventuate. Originally delivered to Butler Air Transport and transferred to Ansett-ANA when the carriers merged. Note that the aircraft does not have weather radar installed and still has the original "slatted" cockpit windows.

Scrapped in 1976 after eight years parked at Melbourne's Essendon airport.

Why this aircraft was re-painted in the all blue livery is a mystery to me, but at lease it's still in a complete state prior to becoming a airframe for use by trainee engineers.

Reregistered VH-RMO in May 1963.

First Butler Viscount service.

Scanned from a photograph sent to me many years ago and still in my possession. Delivered as VH-BAT and later became VH-RMO. Wisley is now permanently closed. It was used by Vickers as a test airfield for Vickers aircraft.

Delivered new to Butler Air Transport in September 1955 as VH-BAT. Merged into Ansett in September 1958 and re-registered VH-RMO in May 1963. Retired in 1968 and broken up in 1976.

Ex VH-BAT, VH-RMO was withdrawn from use at Essendon/YMEN in 1970 and scrapped six years later.
