This aircraft sat on this elevated area for many years. During my youth I spent many hours happily sitting in the aircraft ( my friend's Dad worked in the Control Tower ) on weekends, in a time that was much more conducive to people crawling around aeroplanes.
In 2008 this DC-3 was rediscovered by the aviation community. The airplane is a classroom at a school in the northern suburbs of Bogota. It took a lot of research to find the true identity. Read the whole story on N75T on the OldWings website. The airplane was repainted after this article was made. An extremely interesting history for this aircraft!
