Delivered to the USAAF as 44-77061 then to the RAF as KN683 in 1945. To Swissair as HB-IRN in 1947. Preserved at Lucerne from 1972.

Originally USAF 44-77061, then RAF KN683. Sold to Swissair in 1947 for CHF 283.000 as HB-IRN. Flew with Swissair until 1964, then went to Swissair Aviation School until 1969. It was then given to the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne, Switzerland, after beeing restored by the Swissair Fokker Team. there is also a Swissair DC-3 HB-IRN at Munich, Germany that is cn 4828 with false markings.

The inaugural Swiss Air Lines departure of their scheduled service to Zurich (Kloten). The four hour flight occasionally made a refuelling stop at Brussels if strong headwinds were encountered.

A crowd greets the arrival of the first ever Swissair scheduled flight from Zurich at Ringway. This was the longest route to Manchester until late 1953. HB-IRN had served several RAF Squadrons as KN683 until bought by Swissair in March 1947. Now preserved at Luzern.
