With its camouflage paint peeling away from the original white anti-flash finish, this old Vulcan sits forlornly on the Manston fire school dump. Delivered in 5.58 as a Mk1 to 617 Sqdn at Scampton. On receiving Blue Steel air-launched missiles in 1961, the Dam Busters reformed as 50 Sqdn on the other side of Lincoln at Waddington and XH483 was converted to a B.1A. Flew to Manston 9.69 and was all gone by 1977

A unique opportunity, hanging out the door of sister-ship TC-HMS, an all-yellow Mil-8 high over the Bosphorus during a formation sight-seeing flight around Istanbul from Atakoy heliport. TC-HSB was destroyed there in a terrorist bombing attack just four months later. My camera ship seems to have fared even worse, crashing on 27 Dec 1990.

The world's only four-engined Convair propliner! Stored for the Belgrade Air Museum, this bizarre conversion was mocked-up for a film. Shot taken from the cockpit of the Electra freighter in which I was flying

This colourful Dak, caught here during a short stopover, remains active in Colombia and later actually based at Villavicencio with Aerovanguardia as HK-3199. Derelict there in 2017. Note "Equipado con Radar" marking and mud on the wheels from landings at remote strips

Originally thought to have been ex RCAF 9307 and to Mexico 8.3.74 (one of four CSR-110s supplied by Canada), but some doubt has now been cast on this aircraft's identity. Canadian Albatrosses had more powerful Wright R-1820-82 engines with an air scoop on top of the nacelle; this aircraft may in fact be one from two later batches of ex USN HU-16s, eight ex-DM in 1976 and four in 1978. Re-serialling later occurred and like many Mexican i/d's, this one is very difficult to verify
