Previously VH-BZF and still wearing her Airlines of South Australia basic livery, destined for Cambodian Air Services. Currently on display at Siam Park City Gardens, Khan Na Yao, Bangkok. Scanned from a print by Gordon Reid.
Lovely line-up of propliners. Behind are Convairs from Aero B Venezuela and LAGE. The Air Sea 440 served as HB-IMU having previously been OO-VGW with DAT and CA+031/12+04 of the WGAF. To Mexico in 5.81 and seen in service in the late 1990s with AeroCedros at Ensenada but latterly scrapped
I have another photo of this Convair, from 1971 when she was in service with Iberia as EC-APZ. Delivered to the Spanish flag carrier in 10.59, leased to Lineas Aereas de Guinea Ecuatorial 1972-76 and sold by Atlas Aircraft to Mexico in 1980. Last recorded as stored in poor condition at Houston-Hooks Field having reverted to the Atlas reg N829TA
The world's only four-engined Convair propliner! Stored for the Belgrade Air Museum, this bizarre conversion was mocked-up for a film. Shot taken from the cockpit of the Electra freighter in which I was flying
