Previously VH-BZF and still wearing her Airlines of South Australia basic livery, destined for Cambodian Air Services. On display at Siam Park City theme park, Khan Na Yao, Bangkok by 1994. Scanned from a print by Gordon Reid.
Lovely line-up of propliners. Behind are Convairs from Aero B Venezuela and LAGE. The Air Sea 440 served as HB-IMU having previously been OO-VGW with DAT and CA+031/12+04 of the WGAF. To Mexico in 5.81 and seen in service in the late 1990s with AeroCedros at Ensenada but latterly scrapped
I have another photo of this Convair, from 1971 when she was in service with Iberia as EC-APZ. Delivered to the Spanish flag carrier in 10.59, leased to Lineas Aereas de Guinea Ecuatorial 1972-76 and sold by Atlas Aircraft to Mexico in 1980. Last recorded as stored in poor condition at Houston-Hooks Field having reverted to the Atlas reg N829TA
The world's only four-engined Convair propliner! Stored for the Belgrade Air Museum, this bizarre conversion was mocked-up for a film. Shot taken from the cockpit of the Electra freighter in which I was flying
