Macedonian Aviation was formed in the summer of 1972 with this C-47 and, later, Dove G-APZU, both based at Southend. G-AMPO carried out the first service on 5th November 1972, from Southend to Amsterdam. The Dove arrived on 24th November 1972. The airline ceased flying in November 1974 by which time it had acquired 5 C-47s all of which were transferred to Humber Airways.

First registered as G-ASKE on 10 Jul 1963 with first flight on 05 Jan 1964. Delivered to the RAF as XR362 on 21 Dec 1967. WFU from the RAF and sold as G-BEPE on 30 Mar 1977. Operated by Transmeridian Air Cargo, later HeavyLift Cargo Airlines. WFU on 26 Oct 1984 and used for spares. Scrapped at Southend on 18 Feb 1994.

Registered D-IGUN 1969 and moved to Germany for rebuild. Acquired by Kurfiss Aviation 1974 and displayed at Frankfurt and Düsseldorf with periods in store. Sold 1994 and dismantled for spares in the rebuilding of D-ILIT at Lahr. Was operating an ambulance flight on above occasion.

Astro was the last operator of this former USAAF Curtiss built in 1947. Other users were Flying Tigers, Zantop, Universal, Aviation Associates of Georgia, Channel Air Lift and Genavco. Last noted 2006 as an eyecatcher for a diner close to Manila airport (photographer not known)

The DC-3C shows its complete serial HZ-SAR1 on the rear fuselage while the tail read code SA-R-1. The Dakota was once used by the Saudi Royal Flight as part of the Royal Saudi Air Force.

The aircraft was delivered to the USAF as T-29C 52-1096 in September 1953, it was converted to AC-131A in April 1959 then AT-29C in May 1960, and re-designated ET-29C in 1962. It passed to the FAA as N244 in September 1962, re-registered N247 in September 1963 and then N28 in November 1963, N254 in 1966 and lastly to N94 in 1973. Restored to the USAF as 52-1096 in April 1977 but offered for sale and acquired by Time Aviation Services as N45786 in August that year. The last confirmed sighting at Tucson was in 1986 and thought scrapped around the time the registration was cancelled in July 1988.
