Here having just arrived for attention by AT(E)L, this Viscount was originally Austrian Airlines' OE-LAG, delivered in 2.60 as "Frans Schubert". Modified with the under-belly radome for radar development work by the RRE Pershore, she will perhaps be better remembered in the later RAE "Raspberry Ripple" colours...

Registered to the Aeroflot Latvian directorate in 4.72 and to Cuba 4.85; seen here after repaint in the revised livery. In 3.87 she was involved in an abortive hijacking when a passenger demanded to be taken to Miami. Sadly worse was to come on 11.7.97 when the Antonov was climbing through 500ft out of Santiago for Havana, rolled left and crashed into the sea with the loss of all 44 on board

I was asked by the son of a former Aerocondor pilot whether I had any slides of that colourful airline, so scanned this to oblige... unfortunately too close for the 55mm on my old Spotmatic, but nice nonetheless in the original scheme. Bought by the Colombian airline in 5.74 (making the reg appropriate) from AA with whom she served as N7542A after delivery in 2.61. Wfu at Barranquilla 4.79 and seen derelict there 1987; subsequently scrapped

It was very dark in this part of the museum - long exposure needed. The G-series Me-110 were night fighters; this one has FuG220b Liechtenstein SN-2 radar and was given Air Min serial AM34. On the occasion of the 1992 visit, presidential 757 TP-01 was supported by this nice 727. Although the serial TP-01 had previously been used on a 727, that was a different aircraft. This one started out with PSA as N970PS in 4.65 and joined Mexicana (XA-SER) in 9.69, going on to the Air Force in 9.81 later being serialled 3503; reported wfu at Santa Lucia AB 10.08

Here still in the distinctive later colours of Quebecair, this 1-11 was originally British Eagle's G-ATPH received in 4.67. Sold as CF-QBN in 4.69 and to Cymru in 3.84. Repossessed 1.88 and to Dan-Air as G-BPNX. Bought by Okada and became 5N-MZE in 5.91; in service till wfu at Benin City some time after 2000 and derelict since, remains there in dirty condition

Had a great flight over the arid wastes of Kazakhstan on this An-24 as part of a journey from Novosibirsk to Almaty. We stopped at Karaganda and promptly changed planes to another of the three Tulpar An-24s (UN-47763, behind) to complete the trip — two for the price of one! This 1967 example was noted engineless here at Karaganda in 10.08; b/u 9.10
