Delivered to Trans-Canada Airlines in January 1957, CF-THB retired from Air Canada in1974, stored at Winnipeg, MB and sold to Beaver Enterprises in March 1975 for parts. It was sold privately later in the year and moved to Teulon, MB by road (less engines, propellers and other saleable parts) by road. It was displayed at the owners restaurant until sold in 1985. I was again moved by road to Garland, MB and the bare cabin made livable with everything except running water. The airliner remains there at the time of uploading still engineless and in faded Air Canada colors.

Delivered to Trans-Canada Air Lines February 1, 1958, the first service for CF-THS was Montreal to Winnipeg. Retired in April 1974, it was among Viscounts sold to Beaver Enterprises and stored at Winnipeg. Made flyable in 1976, the aircraft was flown to Montreal for sale to Zaire Aero Services that eventually fell through. It was sold to the Western Canada Aviation Museum in 1982 to replace their Viscount (CF-TIE) that was damaged by vandals. Placed on display in 1984 after refurbishment, it remains on display at the new location of the renamed Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada.

The first Viscount for Canada's Department of Transport was delivered in March 1955. Leased to Trans-Canada Airlines for the summer, it was used fro crew training to keep up with TCA's own delivery schedule of Viscounts. After return in October, the aircraft was used by the Department of Transport (later called Transport Canada) until 1982. Grounded by a crack in a wing spar cap, it was sold for parts. After usefull parts were removed the hulk was donated to Ottawa's airport manager and used for airport fire training. It was later broken up.

Ex Air Canada and for sale, it later went to Air Cardinal (Photo ID: 105548). Still a nice looking aircraft and this was one of several that had a C-check and went out the door in basic livery. They didn't sell well as there were two things going against them: the air-frame (life limited components) and the engines. Air Canada was one of only two airlines that stubbornly refused to upgrade to the Dart 510 with strengthened reduction gearbox. Instead they muddled along with the failure-prone Dart 506 in which the gearbox could break with catastrophic results. Sadly, most ships were scrapped.
