The Saab J29 was not the first Swedish built jet fighter, but the first one built in considerable numbers. Serial 29666 was first seen in the excellent F15 Flygmuseum in May 1999, after it had spent years preserved at Ljungbyhed in South Sweden. On 21 March 1955, it was delivered to the Swedish Air Force.
