BA very occasionally sent Concorde's into Luton. This visit seems to be in conjunction with Vauxhall who had a big car plant in the town. Note the Vauxhall Cavalier's parked in front of it. This photo dates back to the period where BA dropped the Airways from the titles on the fuselage. Delivered new to British Airways on 01 Jul 1980. WFU on 24 Oct 2003. This aircraft was the first of the group of three to land one after the other back at Heathrow on the final day of operations. It was ferried to Barbados on 17 Nov 2003 for preservation.

On a charter into East Midlands. BA Concorde's appeared at various UK airports over the years on special charter flights. Delivered new to British Airways on 01 Jul 1980. WFU on 24 Oct 2003. I made the trip through to Edinburgh for the final visit to Scotland of the Concorde as this was the last day of flights before they were retired from passenger service for good. I decided to use a higher viewing spot for it's landing looking down slightly to get a good view of the Delta wing just before touching down and this was the result.

Other than early tests on overland supersonic booms, Concorde visits Australia were luxury charter flights, often linked with cruise ships. That was the case in 1985 when its arrival coincided with the ships QE2 and Sagafjord stopping in Sydney.

Taken on the eve of the last ever commercial service by Concorde. This one is now preserved in Barbados. Oh how we miss them...
