Displayed in the International Terminal. Built in 1935 for Jean Batten and used for her solo flights to Brazil in 1935 and to New Zealand in 1936. After being impressed into the RAF during WWII it was returned to Percival Aircraft in 1946 and stored in a canvas hangar when its CofA expired in 1955. It was presented to the Shuttleworth Collection in 1961 and made it's last flight in the UK at Old Warden in 1994 before being cancelled from the British Register in March 1995 after it was sold to New Zealand as ZK-DPR.

The prototype Percival Gull, G-ABUR, photographed in 1933 either during or practicing for that year's King's Cup Air Race. This was a virtually new airframe, the original having been severely damaged in an accident the previous summer. Photo given to me by Alex Henshaw.

Owned by Sir Philip Sassoon. Seen at Hatfield for the 1933 Kings Cup Air Race in which it was flown by Flying Officer G.R.A. Elsmie. This aircraft survives in the Musée Royal de l'Armée et d'Histoire Militaire, Brussels, Belgium.

Jean Batten's Percival Gull Six, G-ADPR, seen at RAF Kemble in its RAF impressment camouflage and serial. It was sold to Hunting-Percival Aircraft Ltd and restored at Luton. Eventually presented to the Shuttleworth Collection it was disposed of in 1995, re-registered as ZK-DPR it was flown once after arrival in New Zealand but now hangs from the roof of the terminal building at Auckland International Airport.

Allan Nixon, eventual winner of inaugural Queensland Warana Air Race, 1968 guides VH-CCM away after refuelling. Built 1934 - reg G-ACUP in the U.K. Exported to Australia - sold to Connellan Airways on 31/7/39. After issue of an Australia Cert. of Airworthiness it became VH-ACM in Nov 1939. Wfu 16/10/47 - restored 17/12/47. Sold to pastoralist H P Davis, it was re-registered VH-CCM on 4/4/1949. Wfu 18 July 1950 - restored 12/12/51. Purchased by Alan Nixon, Brisbane, at some stage. Purchased by J Drage Wodonga, Victoria for his collection mid 1970's. Since restored and airworthy in Queensland.

Built as a D.2 Gull Six and modified as a D.3 with a Gipsy Major in place of the Napier Javelin. Ground looped at Bourke, NSW, in May 1956 and damaged. It did not fly again October 1999 after a rebuild that took most of the 1990s. Photo from: Library and Archives NT

Acquired by the Shuttleworth Collection in 1961. Awaiting restoration at the time of the photo. Sold as ZK-DPR in 1995 and preserved in the International Terminal at Auckland Airport as G-ADPR.

In September 1977 it was transferred to the British register as G-AERD, but was deregistered in November 1986 on sale to Australia where it is displayed, still in its British marks, at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.

The aircraft was cancelled from the British register in November 1986 when it was exported to Australia, and it is now on view at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.

Registered to Jean Batten as G-ADPR in 1935 who flew it on a number of record breaking flights. Impressed by the RAF as AX866 in 1940. Restored as G-ADPR in 1946. To the Shuttleworth Collection in 1961. Sold as ZK-DPR in 1995 and preserved in the International Terminal at Auckland.

VH-UVH was never officially registered after it was badly damaged before the process was completed. It was owned by famed aviator Jimmy Melrose when it force landed near Bundanoon, New South Wales, on December 3, 1935 injuring Melrose and tearing the wing off the Gull. The wreckage was taken to Sydney (Mascot) airport. Recovered, Melrose sailed to the UK and bought a Heston Phoenix in which he would killed in July 1936. The application for registration of the Gull was withdrawn and -UVH reallocated to a Porterfield.
