This was one of the early He 111 stepped-cockpit variants and was operated by Spain's Condor Legion in the 1938 Civil War. About 60 surviving He 111s joined the Spanish AF after this conflict, with another six during WW2. Of course Spain later went on to licence-build the type as the CASA 2.111 which served till as late as 1975, one example being preserved next to this Heinkel

The extraordinary Twin Mustang was designed as a very long range escort fighter but was too late for WWII service and was rendered obsolete by the advent of the F-84 Thunderjet, although it did play a part in the initial stages of the Korean War. Early versions could be flown from either side but late models from the left only, with radar operator in the right. One of only five known survivors of the 270 built, preserved at the USAF History and Traditions Museum at Lackland AFB

Originally Pan Am's N319PA in 1966, Ports of Call bought this 727 15 years later. In 1986 the travel club was renamed Skyworld but not for long as it reverted to PoC in 1988, only for the operation to cease a year later. Turkey is one of three nations buying the Peace Eagle or Wedgetail AEW aircraft, with an order for four. This is the second, well known after its 2010 Farnborough appearance. The first is still with Boeing at Seattle on development trials. The others will have a major input from Turkish industry
