A little teaser this one. Although in Air Hong Kong colours, I believe that it was operating as Federal Express, as I can't find any record of it being leased by Air Hong Kong at the time. It did go to Air Hong Kong as VR-HKO but that wasn't until 28 March 1994.
This 747 has found its final resting place at Châteauroux. It began its service life with SAS as SE-DFZ (during this period it was leased several times to Nigerian Airways) Then to Lionair as LX-OCV, PAL and Aerolinas Argentinas as EI-BWF, then N9727N (Capital Cargo), N921FT (Polar Air Cargo) and finally Sky Express as SX-FIN
This Boeing 747 EC-JFR is preserved at CHR with C2FPA (Centre Français de Formation des Pompiers d'Aéroport) or Fireman Traning Center as fire trainer since 2007. It made its first flight on 18 June 1980 and was delivered to Air France as F-GCBB on 3 July 1980. Other registration carried was N1289E. It was also flown by Sabena Belgian World Airways, and ended up as EC-JFR with Air Pullmantur before its final withdrawal.
This 742 was originally delivered to Japan Airlines as JA8114 November 1972 and onto JALways in October 1999. It went to Orient Thai in November 2001 but is now stored at Phitsanulok (PHS) as some sort of ground instruction aircraft,
