Delivered to 12 Sqd during 1963 and 1964, they were extensively used in as tactical bombers and high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. 459 was delivered to the RAF as WJ617 20 January 1954, to the SAAF 16 April 1964. One B(I) 12 was shot down over Angola, five were sold to Peru along with one T 4. One T 4 went to the SAAF Museum whereas 459 became a gate guardian at AFB Waterkloof. Photographer unknown

In March 1981 she was registered 9Q-CYI and flown to South Africa bypassing the UN embargo on the country and given the SAAF serial 6875. This is the second 6875, the first was written off in 1964.
