Transair leased (and later bought) this F-28 from Fairchild Hiller in October 1972. Pacific Western Airline bought financially troubled Transair in 1977. After merging the two airlines in 1979, the F-28 was sold to Air Niuginii as P2-ANE. In service in the South Pacific until withdrawn in April 2004, the aircraft was scrapped by September.
