Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 531 "Grey Ghosts" was decommissioned on 27 Mar'92. The Block 16 (FY'83) is seen here playing the circuit at homebase El Toro. It was moved to VMFA-323 in late 1988 as WS-05. Became VW-05 with VMFA-314 in early 1989 and was moved to NAD North Island in mid-1995. It was sold in a blue aggressor colour scheme to Spain as C.15-78 and delivered as 21-15 to Grupo 21 on 28 Dec'95. Recoded to 21-06 in early 1997. To Esc 111 as 11-06 in early 2000. to Esc 462 in Oct'01. On 16 Jun'09 it crashed after a mid-air collission with C.15-74/46-02 60 NM from homebase Gando.

Playing the circuit at homebase El Toro and turning towards one of the four runways of the massive base. The mighty recce Phantom was moved to AMARC on 9 August 1989 and received inventory code 8F338. The aircraft remained in storage up to 19 November 2008 when it was sold to HVF West, Tucson (AZ) for scrap.

Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 352 'Raiders' used this nice Herc in 1987. It received FMS serial 74-1657 and was delivered to the squadron in November 1975. It was transferred to VMGR-152 ('QD') in 2005 and arrived as such at AMARC on 6 February 2008 and received inventory code AN2G0059. The Herc was stricken from US inventory in 2008 and was selected for Foreign Military Sales to Japan 2012. It was seen at Hill in November 2012 and delivered to the JASDF with the 61 Kokutai as C-130R with serial 9052 on 8 November 2014.

Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 352 'Raiders' used this nice Herc in 1987. It received FMS serial 75-0551 and was delivered to the squadron in August 1976. It was transferred to VMGR-152 ('QD') in late 1993 and arrived as such at AMARC on 9 February 2006 and received inventory code AN2G0043. The Herc was stricken from US inventory on 19 July 2006 and was selected for Foreign Military Sales to Japan 2013. It was seen at Tinker in 2014 and delivered to the JASDF with the 61 Kokutai as C-130R with serial 9055 in most probably 2016.

"Chilly Willy" was a part of a cold weather testing program for the Osprey. It was reported that on Nov. 2004 in Nova Scotia, there was an icing incident where a substantial amount of one of the prop-rotor blades was lost during a routine icing test flight; the aircraft made a safe landing. Not much on it's life since then, but it now sets in a parking lot just outside of the '711th Human Performance Wing Headquarters', at the intersection of National Rd. and McClellan Dr.

Crashed July 10, 2017 into field near Itta Bena, Mississippi while on flight from MCAS Cherry Point to NAF El Centro. All 16 onboard killed.
