Delivered new to Delta in July 1962. Traded to Boeing in 1973, who then sold the a/c to Trans Executive Aviation in November 1974. Sold to American Jet Industries in January 1979, then sold to Torco Oil Co. in December 1993. Broken up at Mojave, CA. in 1999.

Built in 1949 and flew its whole career with the Board of Trade/Civil Aviation Flying Unit. Withdrawn in November 1972 and scrapped at Stansted.

Ex 52-10362 and N3734G. Passed through the UK in 1963-64 en-route to Africa for survey work. Operated by Ottawa based Spartan Air Services on behalf of the United Nations. Displayed at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, Saulte Ste Marie Quebec by 2018.

Originally a V.614 Mk.1, registered 27 June 1946, F/F 29 Oct.1946. Delivered to BEA named "Vantage" 12 Nov.1946. To Aviation Traders at Southend 21 Dec.1948 and converted to V.657 Mk.1. To BWIA as VP-TAZ Feb.1950 and to CAAC as VP-YJA Sept.1951. Restored as G-AHOZ Sept.1957, to East Anglian Flying Services May 1958 and Channel Airways Nov.1962 upon corporate name change. Withdrawn from use at Southend by Jan.1963 and cannibalised for spares until eventually scrapped there April 1964. Cancelled 2 May 1964 as 'Destroyed'.

First flew 31st May 1947 as EI-ADF for Aer Lingus. To Airwork as G-AKTV 15th March 1948, using serial WZ357 for trooping flights 1952/55. Acquired by Tradair 13th May 1959 and made its last flight 2nd Sept.1963, then stored at Southend until scrapped August 1964. Cancelled 7th March 1969 as PWFU.

Delivered new to Eastern in August 1960. Sold to Air Spain in April 1973, but Eastern repossessed the a/c in June 1976. Exported to the United Arab Emirates in April 1977 and US registration cancelled. Scrapped in 1984. This slide was taken from another Eastern DC-8.

French navy Lancaster WU13 is seen here parked on the western side of the airfield of Wellington while still being operated by 9S. Around February 27th or 28th 1964, she flew from Wellington to Auckland and then back to Noumea, where she was based. Less than two months later, this aircraft flew back to Auckland Whenuapai where it was handed over to the Museum of Transport & Technology in Auckland on April 15th 1964. On that day, WU15 was present as well to ferry back the crew of WU13. By then, WU13 had been fitted with 0.5-inch machine guns in all turrets. Since then, WU13 has been preserved there in RAF WWII colour scheme and markings as NX665.

Sold in the US as N1350U in 1967.

Sold in Ecuador as HC-ALT in 1966.

Visiting from Port Lincoln to drop off a passenger for an airline flight. VH-WWC was withdrawn from use in 1976. It returned to the register in 2001 as a long-term restoration project with the registration VH-ZCL.

This early production convertible DC-8-54F first flew on 1 February 1964 and was initially used by Douglas as a test aircraft and demonstrator. Note the large forward freight door, with windows - indicating its dual role. Sold to Airlift International and delivered 17 June 1964. From Douglas over 40 years ago.

Newly built outside the LGB factory. Used for tests by Douglas with 'Experimental' wording placed next to the forward passenger door. From Douglas over 40 years ago.
