Grainy photo from the application for a certificate of airworthiness. VH-BAU spent 6½ years with Airlines (WA) before being sold. It was withdrawn from use at Maylands in 1955 because of deteriorating glues. Wooden parts of the aircraft ended up behind a car yard in the Perth suburb of Belmont. The wood was reused in restoration and amateur-built aircraft projects.

The 17 Buffaloes that the RAAF received were kept iwell away from the frontline and in the case of A51-10, initially operated by 25 Squadron for the defence of Perth. The surviving aircraft, including A51-10, were returned in June 1943 to the USAAF, which had officially taken control of all ex Dutch aircraft in Australia. The Buffaloes were scrapped at Brisbane.
