DV372 was first assigned to No. 467 Squadron, RAAF and flew its first operation, to Berlin, on 18 November 1943. Over the next seven months the aircraft would fly on 50 raids, including the entire Battle of Berlin period, the Nuremberg Raid and the Transportation Plan operations on French railway targets in the lead-up to D-Day. After a flying accident it was repaired and then allocated to No. 1651 HCU. Post-war, it was broken up in late 1945 but the nose section was saved and placed on display at South Lambeth from 19 November 1946.

Built in 1945 and delivered to RCAF in May of the same year, too late to take part in bombing operations. It is the most complete Lancaster X in existence, remaining very close to its wartime condition.

Lancaster NF920 "Easy Elsie" was one of 37 Lancasters that took off from Lossiemouth to bomb German battleship "Tirpitz" in Northern Norway on 29 October 1944. During the unsuccesful strike, "Easy Elsie" was hit by German anti-aircraft fire and its crew directed it to Sweden, where it made a succesful landing in a soggy bog near the small town of Porjus. The Lancaster was damaged and set on fire by the crew, all of which survived the ordeal. The fire quickly went out and so the almost complete wreckage can still be found in exactly the same spot where it landed 80 years ago.
