This photo shows ZK-CGO fresh off the Victa production line at Bankstown before delivery to the Auckland Aero Club. It was rebuilt following a 20 Jan 1965 accident at Onerahi, to become ZK-CRG. (The rebuild included a new fuselage, and the c/n was then changed to FS.2.) [#AT57]

The M-200 civil tiltrotor transport, the last aircraft designed by Curtiss-Wright, was just about to be cancelled when the USAF agreed to make it the X-19. The first hovering flight only lasted a few seconds on 20 November 1963. This machine was tested at Caldwell until 1965. It crashed at the National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center (NAFEC), Atlantic City on 25 August 1965 with just four hours on the clock. A second airframe never flew.
