Photographer not known. This smart-looking C-118 was lost in a non-fatal accident on 10 February 1991. It was chartered to carry 80 soldiers on a flight from Bogota to Arauca and Puerto Carreño. The aircraft was forced to return due to a 'mechanical failure' and, after rectification efforts, took off again. However, after takeoff the No. 1 engine caught fire. The fire spread to the No. 2 engine also and an emergency landing had to be made, off-airport. The aircraft landed in a field, broke in two and was destroyed by fire. All 85 on board survived.
