Delivered to KLM on 1 October, 1949. On March 10, 1954 it became PH-LDE. It served with KLM until 24 January 1963. It then became CX-BBN, and was scrapped at Montevideo in 1972. Photographer unknown.

Constructed as a RC-121D and delivered to the USAF as 53-0554 in October 1955. Redesignated as EC-121D in September 1963. The first EC1-21 to reach 20.000 hours (in 1968). Redesignated as C-121T in Septmber 1970. Transferred to the USAF Reserves at Homestead AFB in October 1974. Retired and ferried to Davis-Monthan AFB for storage in February 1976. Transferred to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center (MASDC) with inventory number CK0197. Transferred to Pima in 1981. Judging photos, the aircraft underwent restoration between 2012 and 2017. Photographed outside again in October 2019 with a fresh coat of paint.

Delivered new to USAF in 12.48 as 48-609 and operated by the Military Air Transport Service (MATS) and other units until retired in 03.68. Bought as N9464 in 05.70 and later C-GXKO For spraying. Acquired by John Travolta in 09.84 as N494TW and stored at Tucson Ryan Field. Restored by 1998 in MATS colours for a widely acclaimed public demonstration tour to Europe. Later sold to South Korea.

The nightly test-run of the Connie with many visitors present who came to watch this event. Unfortunately the #3 engine was refusing to cooperate, but it still was a great sight (and sound!).

Painted up for this Lockheed publicity photo with the fake registration NC70000. It had originally been delivered to the USAAF, then used by TWA for crew training with the civil registration NC54214 (also as NX54214) . This Connie languished for many years at FLL in its green and almost pink cols. The paint having been stripped would suggest that someone had plans for it. Whatever, it never came to fruition and the aircraft was broken up in 1980.

This plane was constructed as a WV-2 and TOC with the USN in August 1956 before being redesignated as a EC-121K in November 1962. In May 1979 it was ferried to MASDC and stored with inventory number 5C0107. Luckily it was placed into the NMUSAF Loan Program and flown to Chanute AFB fr display. After the sad closeure of the museum the fame was transported by trucks to the Yankee Air Museum at Detroit Willow Run (YIP) in July 2017.

Ex Air Fret F-BHML (retired since Aug 76) and Air France of origin. Ferried Nimes-Garons to Düsseldorf 27 Jun 78 as F-BHML. Air Classic titles applied Jan 79. Moved to Frankfurt Airport Jun 85 and given fake reg D-ALAP. Moved from Frankfurt to Munich circa 1993. Extensively restored in early 2001 and painted in 1955 Lufthansa cols with fake reg D-ALEM in commemoration of Lufthansa's first L-1049G transatlantic flight on 8 Jun 55 with D-ALEM (c/n 4603).

NASA had two C-121Gs operating into and out Australia in the late 60s and early 70s in support of the Apollo moon missions. They were originally leased to NASA in 1963 as NASA 420 and NASA 421. In June 1969 they were re-registered N420NA and N421NA respectively. I didn't keep records in those days but as near as I can work out from records of NASA flights and a time I recall being in Sydney, this had to be late November 1972. The record showed it to have arrived in Sydney November 25th and departed December 1st.

Used to carry equipment for The Rolling Stones during their 1973 Pacific Tour, hence the nose art.
