First flown 28 March 1956 and delivered to Central African Airways 24 April. When the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland was dissolved and Malawi and Zambia gained independence, CAA became a holding company and the Viscounts operated with nameplates for the new airlines; Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia, and Zambia Airways. To Air Malawi as 7Q-YDK 1 January 1968, June 1979 to Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia as VP-YNA, name changed to Air Zimbabwe February 1980. Re-registered Z-YNA October 1983. Leased by TAA from Vickers after its sale to Capital fell through. After return to Vickers, it was converted to a 784D and sold to Philippines Air Lines as PI-C772. Interestingly, it was not to be UK registered and between its cancellation from the Australian register in February 1959 and its addition to the Philippines register in December that year it remained unregistered. Arrived 22nd February 1976 and still being re-assembled at the time of this shot. Last flight to Liverpool Speke on 12th April 1972 for preservation by the Viscount Preservation Trust. Security concerns resulted in the move to Duxford. Current in 2025 in BEA colours.

First flight 1st October 1953. Made its last flight into Southend from Cardiff 2 days prior to this photo on 17th June 1976. After some parting out it was finally scrapped in May 1979.

Taxying for departure on runway 24. Withdrawn from use at Teesside in 1982. Fuselage used as a fire trainer from 1986.
