The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team operated this aircraft and the registration of N1R was also used with its replacement aircraft a Lockheed Electra. It went to Aviaco in May 1961 as EC-AQK later registered to Fuerza Aerea Boliviano as TAM-45. Subsequently written-off 24 January 1978 at San Ramon.
Originally slated for delivery to TAA as VH-TFL , but not taken up. It was delivered to MMA on 7 December 1959 as VH-MMS. It was later transferred into the Ansett Transport system and after storage was eventually sold as OB-1454 to Transpacific Enterprises Inc in October 1993. It was WFU and used for spares at Santiago, Chile in October 1993.
VH-EWT was used in rain-making experiments for the CSIRO, the government scientific research organisation. It was sold and reregistered VH-UNB in June 1964. The photo, from East-West, is taken over Tamworth, the airline's base.
