The Sikorsky developed X2 high speed co-axial helicopter first flew on August 27, 2008. Before it's retirement in 2011, it had raised the helicopter speed record to 260 knots. The design won the Robert J Collier Trophy by the National Aeronautic Association in 2010 and test data became the basis for the new Sikorsky S-97 Raider, now under development. The aircraft was donated to the Smithsonian in 2016.

Originally US Navy 151391, this Orion was retired from the military in 1986 and stored at MASDC. Bought by Aero Union Corp and converted to an fire fighting air tanker, first registered N180AU and later N900AU. In July 2011, the US Forest Service cancelled Aero Union's contract due to safety concerns. That contract was 95% of the company's income and resulted in it closing it's door shortly after. This P-3 as well as others have been stored at various airports since the end of 2011.

This aircraft was the last of 61 Reims / Cessna 337 TBGs built. Spectrum Aircraft modified it by replacing the two piston engines with a single rear mounted Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turbo prop, lengthening the cabin ahead of the wing and a new extended cargo nose. Registered N15SA, the Spectrum SA-550 Spectrum-One first flew on February 1, 1983. Planned certification the following year did not happen and the aircraft was acquired by Basler Flight Services in 1992 who renamed it Basler Turbo 37. Further modifications increased the Max weight to 5,952 lb (2,700 kg), but no sales followed.

This fourth CL-215 off the production line was the third of the type for the Province of Quebec. In their fleet from 1968 - 1995, it was sold to the Croatian government (9A-CAB) and later transferred to the Air Force as tanker 822. In 2004 it was sold to become I-SRMA operated by Societa Ricerche Esperienze Meteorologiche (SOREM) for Italy's Protezione Civile. The aircraft, the last piston CL-215 in Italy, was stored in Rome and the registration cancelled by 2013.
