Ghostly image taken in Conair's storage yard of a large number of Trackers, some of which likely served as parts sources for their Firecat conversions. A number of former Canadian Forces Trackers can be seen in the background, their folded wings reaching into the sky they will never be in. There were approximately 50 frames stored there.
Constructed as a B.2 in 1963, this Victor was converted to a K.2 in 1974. Based at RAF Ascension (Wideawake Island) at the beginning of the Falklands war the tanker also flew sorties out of Bahrain during operation Desert Storm of the Gulf War in 1990. Retired in 1993, the nose section was preserved when it was scrapped. Stored for a while, the nose was transferred to the RAF Museum in Hendon in 1997 and put on display.
