This spotless Albatross is hands down the best-looking aircraft in Hans Lauridsen's collection. He acquired it in 2008, and painted it as Coast Guard 7238 in 2013, even though it never served with them. It is in fact former US Navy Bu131904. The real Coast Guard 7238 was ex USAF SA-16A 51-7238, c/n 325. As far as I am aware, this Albatross hasn't flown at all since being painted in these markings.

Displayed in the park since 1983, initially in the markings and serial (N2-23) it wore when it retired from the Australian Navy. Later repainted in RAAF (ARDU) markings and kangaroo roundels but without a serial. While it was in RAAF service , it was never with ARDU and never wore kangaroo roundels in RAAF service. Removed from the park in 2024 for restoration and repainting. The markings chosen were those it wore when transferred from the RAAF to the RAN in 1950. It retained its RAAF serial for a short period and that is what was applied during the restoration.

The Gouvernement du Québec was the first Canadian operator of the CL-215 with this aircraft in service 1970 - 95 when it was sold to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Buffalo Airways acquired it in 2018, joining several other former Government of Newfoundland and Labrador aircraft.

Otter 3669 was in the Air Force 1951 to late 1981. Sold to Newcal Aviation (N2631U) in 1983 and stored at Decatur, TX it was sold to Prince Ablert, SK based Dawn Air (C-FASF) in 1988. That company folded several months later with the aircraft going to Air Sask Aviation (1988 - 1990). Last with Points North Air Services, on May 1, 1999 the aircraft attempted a take off from a slush covered frozen lake. Failing to get airborne, it clipped the shoreline and slid 300 feet before coming to a stop and catching fire. The pilot and five passengers escaped unhurt, but the aircraft burned.

I must say that when I photographed this Invader 18 years earlier, it looked a lot nicer. It is unclear what Mr. Lauridsen's plans with this aircraft were when he bought it in 2006.

Nineteen years after I first saw her as Tanker 121, withdrawn from use in the Museum of Flight & Aerial Firefighting at Greybull (WY), she was looking splendid in her original USCG outfit - and still very much airworthy. Many thanks to VP Goss for facilitating our visit.

The logos on nose and tail and the strange "H0180-H" marks on the wing underside all date back to early 2004, when this C-119 starred in the movie "Flight of the Phoenix". It was operated by Hawkins and Powers at the time, and an airstrip to facilitate the filming was constructed at Rössing Mountain, near Swakopmund in Namibia. Hans Lauridsen acquired the aircraft two years later. After storage at Greybull (WY), Glendale (AZ) and Wickenburg (AZ), this Boxcar arrived at Buckeye on 25 June 2009. It hasn't flown since.
