Former West Coast Air Services Beaver with new Air BC titles. The Jim Pattison Group amalgamated ten local float operators in 1980 to form Air BC. C-FOSP is current with Harbour Air at the time of uploading, upgraded with an extended aft cabin and larger windows replacing the classic Beaver porthole.

Former US Navy VX-5 Hornet and Blue Angel veteran is on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum and displayed at the entrance of the base. It replaced a Blue Angels Grumman F-11 Tiger previously at the same location.

Previously N74947, West Coast bought this 1973 Navajo Chieftain from Piper Southwest in 1978. The aircraft was sold when Air West and West Coast Air merged in 1981. Remaining on the Canadian registry, G-GPOW later flew with Alak Air 1984 - 88, Sunwest Charters 1988 - 90 and last with Keystone Air Service. On June 11, 2002, it was destroyed after running out of fuel on a missed approach and crashing in a Winnipeg traffic intersection.

The Quad City Challenger ultra light aircraft are quite popular in Canada, no doubt aided by the ease of operation with wheels, skis or floats. This Challenger II was built in 1992.

Delivered to Okanagan Helicopters circa 1980, this S-76 was initally operated in Australia by the company registered VH-WXF. Returned to Canada in 1986, it was registered to forestry company Macmillan Bloedel Ltd. Sold when MacBlo was acquired by Weyerhaeuser in the USA in 1999, it was registered N347AA, This was the first S-76 registered C-GIMY. The second (cn 760055) was a former Canadian Helicopters' S-76 that crashed May 31, 2013 with Ornge, the Province of Ontario's ambulance service.

On a rare visit to Ottawa, this Martinair 767 (1992- 2011) was last leased to the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB-2900) 2016 - 19 when stored at South Texas Regional Airport at Hondo, TX. The registration (N328MP) was cancelled on October 8, 2022.

Taken on strength by the Royal Canadian Air Force as 12732, 104732 is pictured in it's last days of service. On April 30, 1982 the fighter was engaged in air combat training with a CF-5 when control was lost and it entered a flat spin. Unable to recover, the pilot ejected and the jet crashed on the training range at Cold Lake, AB.

Delivered June 4, 1981, XA-MEZ is pictured with it's original name. Later christened Huichol and Mérida, the aircraft was transferred to the Policia Federale Preventiva (Mexican Federal Police) in July 2002 and registered XC-OPF.

Just imported by M F Air Services, this Sikorsky S-55D leaves for it's Langley base. The helicopter (or parts of it) is displayed at the Canadian Museum of Flight and Transportation (Langley, BC) in RCAF colors at the time of uploading.

De Havilland Canada kept this 1962 Otter as a demonstrator, initially wearing a yellow and blue color scheme on amphibious floats. A test aircraft and company taxi after DHC-3 production ended, the aircraft was sold to Austin Airways in 1978. It flew with Ignace Airways from December 1980 until it crashed on take off at McKenzie Lake, ON on October 10, 1987. Slowly rebuilt at Kuby's Aircraft at Kenora, it was registered to Slate Falls Airways in 1992. Converted to turbine power over the winter of 2004 / 2005, it's still current with Slate Falls Airways at the time of uploading.

Former Irish Air Corps Vampire 186 getting some maintenance. The aircraft won first place in the jet race at Reno in 2015 wearing RAF warbird markings with fake serial WD186. The jet crashed at next year's race on September 16, 2016 when the aft section of canopy structurally failed and pieces were ingested into the engine. It crash landed wheels up in the desert near the Reno airport.

Bearskin Lake Air Services was founded in 1963 to provide charter services to First Nations reserves in northern Ontario. In the late 1970s the operation moved from bush planes to small commuter airliners to service growing scheduled services operating as Bearskin Airlines. This 1974 Aztec was registered to Thunder Bay Flying School before coming to Bearskin 1997 - 2001. The airline became a regional carrier when it sold the First Nations routes to Wasaya Airways in 2003. Current since 2007 with Quebec based construction company Air Vision / Les Ateliers Fermontois at the time of uploading.

First flown as G-BERZ in September 1977, this Skyvan was registered to the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum as HZ-ZAL before the end of the year. Registered N192WW in March 2014 to Win Win Aviation, the aircraft is pictured at Slylark Field operating for Skydive Elsinore.

Operating for nine years (January 2012 - December 2021) with PHI Petroleum Helicopters, this S-92 was registered in Canada as C-GVZS March 14, 2022.

The Helicopter Association International (HAI) is a not-for-profit professional trade association that represents all aspects of the Vertical Take-off & Landing (VTOL) industry. Each year HAI arranges the helicopter exhibition Heli-Expo held in the southern USA and attended by manufactures and operators from around the world. At the time of the photo this helicopter was registered to MFS LLC (since 13 September 2018).

Former Gateway Aviation Twin Otter was recently added to West Coast Air Services fleet (May 1978) in this photo. Merged with Air West for form Air BC in 1980, it received new colors shortly after.

While Air Canada bought Canadian Airlines in 2000, the airline was operated separately until May 2002 when operations were merged. Some Canadian aircraft wore this interim color scheme (with a Star Alliance logo added on the 747 as Canadian transferred from One World). The 747 is pictured operating without winglets for a very short time. One winglet was damaged in a ground incident and to keep the aircraft flying, the other was removed while the damaged one was repaired / replaced.
