Svitlana Kominko, CEO of canadian NGO "Maple Hope Foundation" involved in the project, made an interesting statement (quote): "The donation of a Sikorsky medevac helicopter is not only extraordinarily generous...it is also historically significant, as Igor Sikorsky himself was born in Kyiv and surely had no idea that his invention would (one day) become part of the effort to save lives in his own native country."

Built in 1981, flew for the University of Kentucky Medical Center as N5426U till 1993, then for PHI Inc between 1994 and 2003. Joined HeliJet in October 2003 and subcontracted to BC Ambulance, for which it flew as an air ambulance / HEMS helicopter till February 2025, the month it was donated to war-torn Ukraine. It arrived there in April 2025 and is now being operated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine. Founded in 1986 and initially operating a single Bell 412, HeliJet soon took delivery of its first two S-76A's in November 1989. Over the years, about 17 more S-76s followed, making HeliJet one of the bigger operators of this good looking and fast helicopter. The early A-Models have now all been replaced by the stronger S-76C, of which at least six are currently in the fleet, among them this former PHi S-76 (N784P between November 2006 & May 2018), which joined HeliJet in May of 2018. The Vancouver harbour heliport is a safe bet to see several S-76s on a daily basis.

Delivered new to CFS Air in 2005, this S-76 registered to PHI Petroleum Helicopters in 2011. The helicopter was transferred to PHI Air Medical in 2019 to operate for the state of Kansas as LifeFlight Eagle. Dedicated to the Children's Mercy Critical Care Transport Team, the helicopter was registered N919CM in 2020.

This chopper has been sitting at the FMTC firefighting training centre at Schiphol (Badhoevedorp), but she has been moved to the FMTC Dordrecht training centre in 2024.
