Built 1943 for USAAF and delivd as 43-30732. September 12th 1946 LN-IAF for Det Norske Luftfartsselskap -DNL, named "Nordfugl". In 1948 LN-IAF was transferred fot SAS, repainted to the 1948 variation of SAS colours and renamed "Fridjof Viking". Augsut 1957 rr to SE-CFP for Linjeflyg. Later 79006 for the Swedish Air Force, fleet no 709. 1984 SECFP for Stiftelsen "Flygande Veteraner" and repainted to the 9148 livery of SAS colours, except for the font used on "Scandinavian Airlines System", This font was not introduced before 1957, and that is the same year it left SAS. Seen at take-off rwy 36

Registered as NC33615 in 1941. Impressed into the US Navy as R3O-2 02947. To the RAF as AL524 in 1945. Registered as G-AGTL in 1945, F-BJJY in 1960 then F-AZLL in 1999. Still operational in 2024.

One of two French Navy Dakota's from 56S visiting Luton on a training flight. This one is the former USAAF 42-100521 which operated in Europe during WWII. To the US civil register as NC65384 on 26 Apr 1948. To N308SF on 26 Mar 1953. To N45V on 28 Feb 1962. To the Aeronavale as 18954 on 05 Mar 1963, later to 84. To the US as N98BF in Sep 1985 for Basler Flight Services. To Dodson Int' Corp as N308SF on 11 Aug 1992. Shipped to Coventry on 17 Jan 2017 where restoration is carrying on to restore her as 42-100521. Eventually to be based at Membury in flying condition.

Later going to CSA as OK-WDU until 1958. From 1958 to 1983 with the Aeronavale as 36. in 1983 to France as F-GEOM with Stellair and later Transvalair. To the UK in 1994 as G-DAKK with Classic Airways, South Coast Airways and Air Atlantique. In 2006 moved to storage at the Aviadrome in Lelystad. Currently with Classic Wings for restoration. Registration G-DAKK still current in 2024.

Although BMA flew from Luton this was a Heathrow weather diversion. Delivered to Lufthansa on 05 Oct 1958 as D-ALUN. To Nora Air Services on 26 Jul 1971. To BMA on 12 Feb 1972 as G-BAPF. To SE-FOY with Skyline Sweden on 15 Oct 1975. Back to BMA as G-BAPF in May 1978. To Baltic Airlines in Mar 1988 and did various leases with Gambia Air Shuttle and Hot Air. WFU and stored at Southend in Jun 1991. To Moreton-in-the-Marsh for fire training in Mar 1992.

Ex VH-TLC, N188LC, (converted to a freighter by California Airmotive in 1975) YS-06C, OB-M1328, HK-3642X, HK-3706X and HK-3706. Bought by Mex Jet after a period of storage at Bogota, damaged beyond economic repair in a ground incident at Panama City, Tocumen (MPTO / PTY) in March 2007 and still present in extremely poor condition in the storage/scrap area at the end of 2022.

My first photo of this Heron belonging to the Sola A.ir Museum. Built 1953, ex PK-GHB and G-AOXL. Imported by Fjellfly as LN-BFY February 10th 1972, but did not get Certificate of Air Worthiness. Stored at Skien until taken over by Sola Air Museum in 1984 and restored with parts after LN-BFX, in May 1987 painted as the first BU Heron with reg LN-PSG (which was a Heron !B from 1952 with serial 14002).

Delivered in 1942 as 41-38644, the US Air Force sold this C-47 to Reeve Aleutian Airways as NC19906 in 1946. Pictured leased to Salair, the aircraft spent some time stored at Salt Lake City after 1997 before moving to Anchorage, AK and stored in 2004. It's registered to the Anchorage Aviation Museum at the time of uploading.

Originally with the Royal Canadian Navy as 1530 from 1957, this Tracker was probably stored circa 1970 as no new serial was assigned after the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces in 1968. Sold to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (CF-OPT) in 1972, it's was held in reserve until sold to Conair in 1980. Converted to a Firecat in 1982, C-GMXY became Tanker 3 F-WZLP (F-ZBAT in 1984) with Securite Civile. It was lost fighting a fire in Corsica September 24, 1990.
