Delivered in 1942 as 41-38644, the US Air Force sold this C-47 to Reeve Aleutian Airways as NC19906 in 1946. Pictured leased to Salair, the aircraft spent some time stored at Salt Lake City after 1997 before moving to Anchorage, AK and stored in 2004. It's registered to the Anchorage Aviation Museum at the time of uploading.

Civilianized for Reeve Aleutian as NC19906 1946, Northern Air Cargo 1978, Small Aero Transit 1980, Salair 1986, Majestic Airlines 1988, operating cargo services from their Salt Lake City base. Found its way back to Alaska late nineties, from 2003 withdrawn at Anchorage. Acquired by Alaska Aviation Museum 2021.

This DC-3 is longtime airport resident and was moved to an isolated ramp at the south end of the airport a few years ago. Acquired by Reeve Aleutian in 1946, it was the airline's first DC-3 and it still wear's faded Reeve colors and Salair titles. It is currently owned by the Alaska Aviation Museum. A quick look inside showed a cargo interior and a cockpit totally devoid of instruments and other equipment. This DC-3 is an historical Alaskan icon and deserves to be preserved.
