Delivered to the USAAF as 43-15509 in 1944. To ABA as SE-BBH in 1945 then to SAS in 1948. To N9985F then to N51V in 1953 and the Spanish Air Force as T.3-29 in 1962. To Aces High as G-BHUB in 1980. Painted as G-AGIV for filming the TV series Airline then to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in 1981 and preserved as 315509. It may not have had the serial applied at the time of the photo.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-100591 in 1943. To the Royal Norwegian Air Force as 2100591 in 1950 then to the Royal Danish Air Force as 68-684/K-684 in 1956. To Valiant Air Command as N3239T in 1983 which was applied soon after this photo was taken. Still current with them in 2024.

PSA phased out the Electra in 1969 but the type made a comeback in their very seventies colours in 1975 to serve Lake Tahoe, which did not allow full-jet airliners. Among the four airframes acquired was N171PS, which had been PSA's first Electra in 1959. By mid-1978 this aircraft was in the revised orange-red colour scheme as PSA had found that the pink did not weather well. The L-188 was finally retired in 1979. Photo from: SFO Museum

Photo dated 1955 by the source but this Viscount was built for MEA in 1957, and the titles indicate that the photo is from the 1960s. When this airframe returned from a lease to Jordan Airways in January 1964, MEA had taken over Air Liban and aircraft wore dual titles for a while. The Air Liban name was dropped in 1965. OD-ACU to Air Rhodesia in 1968 as VP-WAR. Broken up at Harare in 1986 with nearly 40,000 flying hours and 30,000 landings. Photo from: SFO Museum

Although marked as a USN XR2O-1, this Lockheed 10-A never served in the Navy. Built in 1938 and exported to Australia as VH-ABV and operated by MMA. After WWII reregistered VH-MMD. Returned to U.S. in 1954 and from then through 1975 operated by several entities with reg. N4886V. Reregistered N19HL and stricken from register in 1980. In 1987 Valiant Air Command reregistered it as N19HL. Restoration to flight status was started, but in 2002 the a/c was donated to the NNAM where a static restoration was completed. Currently on display in the main museum building.

After USAAF service as 45-627 this aircraft was leased to Pan American as N88945 "Clipper Gladiator" in April 1947 serving until February 1954 when it was returned to the USAF. Retired from service in February 1973 it was stored at MASDC Tucson until civilianised as N88945 in early 1981, becoming N811E with Globe Air the following year. When Globe Air closed in 1985 it was stored until acquired by Brooks Air Fuel in June 1991 and converted as a fuel tanker, sadly it was written off on 8th October 1993 when it veered off the runway landing at Point Lay, AK., with a cargo of unleaded auto fuel.

Since at least October 1984, this Beech 18 is preserved at San Felipe airfield.

A visitor to Duxford. Registered as G-ANUO in 1954 and used by a number of operators. Withdrawn from use in 1996 and preserved at the former Croydon Airport as G-AOXL.
