On 17 January 1991 this F/A-18C shot down an Iraqi Chengdu F-7A (MiG-21) with a AIM-7M Sparrow missile while assigned to VFA-81. It was last assigned to VFA-146 before it was retired. In March 2025 it was transferred on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum to the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum in Alameda, California.

The large bracket attached to the firewall is a stand that will be used to position the a/c vertically while undergoing restoration. The aircraft is currently on display at the Valiant Air Command Museum in Titusville, Florida.

This N2S-3 was flown twice by former president George H.W. Bush on solo flights during his flight training at NAS Minneapolis in January 1943. After the war sold surplus and registered N75032 in November 1949. Acquired by the museum in 1992, the aircraft is seen here undergoing a routine restoration cleaning and checkup in 2019. It currently is on display hanging in the Blue Angel Atrium in the main museum building.
