After USAAF service as 45-627 this aircraft was leased to Pan American as N88945 "Clipper Gladiator" in April 1947 serving until February 1954 when it was returned to the USAF. Retired from service in February 1973 it was stored at MASDC Tucson until civilianised as N88945 in early 1981, becoming N811E with Globe Air the following year. When Globe Air closed in 1985 it was stored until acquired by Brooks Air Fuel in June 1991 and converted as a fuel tanker, sadly it was written off on 8th October 1993 when it veered off the runway landing at Point Lay, AK., with a cargo of unleaded auto fuel.

Delivered to Delta Air Lines as N3320L in 1967. To Ozark Air Lines as N997Z in 1977. Ozark merged into Trans World Airlines in 1986. Withdrawn from use at Fayetteville-Drake Field, NC in 2001 and scrapped in 2002.

Delivered to Allegheny Airlines as N965VJ in 1969 who were renamed to USAir in 1979 and US Airways in 1997. Withdrawn from use at Mojave, CA in 2001 and scrapped in 2004.

Delivered to Delta Air Lines as N3333L in 1968. To Ozark Air Lines in 1980 and reregistered as N929L in 1981. Ozark merged into Trans World Airlines in 1986. Withdrawn from use at Marana, AZ in 2001. Scrapped in 2007. Nose section shipped to Amsterdam-Schiphol and preserved inside the terminal in KLM colours.

Delivered to United Airlines as N9056U in 1969 then to Frontier Airlines as N7389F in 1976 and Continental Airlines in 1986. Reregistered as N10236 in 1993. Withdrawn from use at Ardmore, OK in 1998 and scrapped.in 2000.

Delivered to Frontier Airlines as N7352F in 1980. To United Airlines in 1985 and reregistered as N995UA in 1986. Stored at Victorville, CA in 2001. To Adam Air as PK-KKF in 2004 then to Jatayu Air as PK-JTY in 2004 and Tri-MG Air as PK-YGS in 2009. Withdrawn from use at Medan by 2011 and preserved as a restaurant at the Aero Hotel, Tanjungmorawa, North Sumatra, Indonesia from 2014.

Delivered to Sabena as CV440-12 OO-SCP in 1956. To Frontier Airlines as N73164 in 1968 and converted to a CV580. To Metro Airlines in American Eagle colours in 1985. Stored ar Marana, AZ in 1989. To the Bolivian Air Force as TAM-74 in 1991. Stored at La Paz, Bolivia by 2000. Still there in 2014 in derelict condition.

Delivered to Braniff Airways as N415BN in 1972. To American Airlines as N720AA in 1981. Sold as N415BN in 2003 and stored at San Bernadino. CA. Still there in 2016. Later scrapped.

Delivered to Delta Air Lines as N3330L in 1968. To Ozark Air Lines in 1979 and reregistered as N923L in 1980. Ozark merged into TWA in 1986. Withdrawn from use at Marana, AZ in 2001 and later scrapped.

Delivered to Eastern Air Lines as N8985E in 1969. To Midway Airlines in 1991 then to Servivensa as YV-819C in 1992 and Aerorepublica as HK-3906X in 1994. Sold as N47401 in 2001 and stored at Banjul, Gambia. To Afrinat as C5-AEA in 2006 and stored at Johannesburg. Still there in 2018. Later scrapped.

Delivered to Eastern Air Lines as N8915E in 1967. To Republic Airlines in 1980 who merged into Northwest Airlines in 1986. Withdrawn from use at Marana, AZ in 2004. Still there in 2011. Later scrapped.

Delivered to Eastern Air Lines as N8848E in 1970. To Pan American in 1989. Withdrawn from use at Mojave, CA in 1991. Scrapped in 1996.

Delivered to TWA as N831TW in 1965. Withdrawn from use at Kansas City, MO in 1992 and scrapped in 1997.

In an experimental colour scheme. Delivered to TWA as N64339 in 1974. Operated the last TWA 727 revenue flight. Withdrawn from use at Victorville, CA in 2000. Scrapped in 2002.

Delivered to Texas International Airlines as N3514T in 1979 who merged into Continental Air Lines in 1982. Reregistered as N12514 in 1991. To Aerocalifornia as XA-TNT in 1998. Withdrawn from use at Tijuana when they ceased operations in 2008. Still there in 2023.

Delivered to TWA as N52310 in 1968. Withdrawn from use and scrapped at Smyrna, TN in 1998. Fuselage still there in 2000.

Delivered to TWA as N11002 in 1972. Destroyed by fire after an aborted takeoff at New York-JFK in 1992.

To the Turkish Air Force in 1984. In use as a ground trainer at Izmir-Gaziemir in 2000.

Destroyed in a fatal crash on a test flight after maintenance from Fort Sill-Henry Post, OK in 1987.
