Built in 1949. To F-BDZQ and converted to an NC858 in 1957. Withdrawn from use at Toussus-le-Noble (LFPN/ TNF) in 1959 and cancelled from the register in October 1978.

WD932 was the fourth production Canberra built and was flown to the US by Sqn Ldr A E Callard on 21 February 1951. English Electric's Chief Test Pilot, Roland Beamont then gave a spirited comparative display with the North American B-45 and the Martin XB-51 on the 26th of the same month. The Pentagon selected the Canberra, now designated B-57A. WD932 remained in the US and was allocated serial no. 51-17387 although this was never applied to the aircraft. It was lost on 21 December 1951 in high a "g" maneuver due to incorrect use of the fuel system. (Glenn L Martin Co. Photograph - No. P 40875)

Hangar under construction 1950 or 1951

Purchased by Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1949 for Antarctic operations. Shipped to Falklands in 1950 and thence operated by Falkland Islands Government Air Service until 1953. Airframe was used for naval target practice. The engine lay on the beach not far from the Beaver hangar. Now moved to the museum, I believe. The floats were sold to Saunders Island on West Falklands and used to make a barge.

VMF-214 made two tours during the Korean War. National Archives at College Park, Maryland

Became VH-CMA in 1953, then VH-WAO, VH-CHD and VH-ASM. It was rebuilt and restored to the register in 1991 as VH-UZO. It has since been cancelled and is now displayed at the Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre in Queensland.

Photo believed to be at Tengah or Changi. The ferry tanks may mean it is at the end of its ferry flight from the UK because tanks were not normally fitted for combat missions over Malaya. Nukulau Island was almost taxiing distance from the RNZAF flying boat base at Laucala Bay, which was 7km away. NZ4055 was sold in 1956 with the intention of being converted into a pleasure boat.
