Titles are on the sticker with a caricature of a mosquito. Later on in life this aircraft was sold to Australia and crashed on take-off from Oakland CA. on 7 Mar 93. It was en route to Honolulu on its delivery flight. The probable cause given in the NTSB report was "A premature lift off and inadvertent stall by the pilot-in-command. Contributing to the accident was insufficient available aircraft performance data after a ferry tank installation and both pilot's lack of total experience in the airplane."

When I posted this picture on a Beech 18 FB Group, I received this interesting additional info from Bob Parmerter: This nice conversion of a surplus C-45H to a high cabin trigear G18S, with panoramic window, was done by Volitan Avn, Pacoima, CA in Jan 63. I believe that at the time this picture was taken it had been seized by the Collier Co. Sheriff (not sure why), then auctioned by them in Apr 80 to L.R. Pike, Everglades FL., for the low price of $13,500. Not sure if it flew after that (no 337 forms in the file) & was reported as "destroyed/scrapped" by same owner in Dec87. Thanks Bob.

This C-45 was TOC by the USAAF around 1944 with the serial 44-47139. After WWII it entered onto the civilian register and flew until 10th June 1965 as it suffered substantial damage at Reynolds Airport, Jackson, MI. when the aircraft nosed over during the landing rollout. The frame is now on display at the Heritage In Flight Museum at Logan County.
