The R III light single-seater, designed by brothers Werner and Walter Rieseler, was produced mainly in Breslau (now Wrocław) by the Stahlwerk Mark conglomerate, originally a steel mill. About 50 R III aircraft are thought to have been built. This photo was taken at Devau airport in Königsberg, East Prussia (now Kaliningrad) where the Altpreussen flying school was a Mark dealer. On display in the Research & Development Gallery at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This aircraft was built in the 1980s as an experimental battlefield surveillance aircraft. It differed from the faceted surfaces of the F-117 Nighthawk and helped in the development of the B-2. Described as one of the most unstable aircraft ever flown, it required a digital fly-by-wire system to control it. Using its SLAR, it could loiter successfully at low speeds over and behind the battlefield as a stealth aircraft. Having been flown 135 times, Tacit Blue was retired in 1985.

Built in 1916 by Frederick Sage & Co from Peterborough, England, the Sage Type 2 first flew on 10th August 1916 and although initially test results were good the aircraft crashed on 20th September 1916 at Cranwell airfield and was never developed further. The pilot and gunner sat in an enclosed cabin with a hole in the upper wing above the gunner's seat allowing him to stand with his head and shoulders above the wing. Scanned from an original (republished) photograph originally from the J J Halley archive. Date and photographer unknown.

With its Bureau Number scratched away, this Tomcat was performing a nice display over Oceana. It even flew with a Pitts Special in formation, with the Pitts upside down. Anyone for the BuNo?

I've been trying to identify this aircraft ever since I took the photo, but so far without success. I've come to the conclusion that it is likely an early model Cessna 182 / 182A or 182B. that somewhat limits the options, however still a lot of possibilities left. Any leads on the identity are appreciated!
